BD EliteBD Elite

5 – 18 Years

Our Blue Dolphin Elite program offers swim team-style classes. Classes range in length from 45-90 mins, and are broken down by skill level – Pre-Team, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Pre-Team students practice 1-2 times per week. Swimmers in Bronze, Silver, and Gold are required to attend 3 practices per week. Coaches emphasize stroke technique with students using a variety of different drills. BD Elite also focuses on stamina, pace, and interval sets for our swimmers to build endurance, as well as racing starts and turns.

Our coaching team prides itself on providing constant feedback to our swimmers to help them improve.

Pre-Team: $120 per month (1-2 classes/week)

Bronze: $135 per month (3 classes/week)

Silver: $150 per month (3 classes/week)

Gold: $165 per month (3 classes/week)

PRE-TEAM

Pre-Team aims to begin learning skills needed to function on a swim team independently, refine Freestyle and Backstroke, and finish learning Breaststroke and Butterfly.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of High Dolphin OR ability to perform the following skills: swim freestyle 100 yards, kick 100 yards, backstroke 50 yards, introductory butterfly 25 yards, introductory breaststroke 25 yards, tread for 2 minutes, introductory dive

To graduate from this level, students must:

  • Streamline off the wall 100% of the time
  • Be legal in all strokes 100% of the time
  • Have warm-up memorized
  • Focus and listen to the coach the entire class time
  • Have an understanding of the interval clock
  • Do a competitive dive from the block
  • Do a legal flip-turn

Up to 12 students per class for 45 minutes

**BDSS has the right to consolidate and/or cancel a class if there are fewer than 4 students enrolled in the class.

Bronze

The purpose of Bronze is to learn more advanced skills needed to work on a swim team independently, increase distances in Freestyle and Backstroke, and refine Breaststroke and Butterfly.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of BDSS PRETEAM Level or email us for an assessment.

To graduate from this level, students must:

  • Have the warmup memorized
  • Be mentally and physically able to complete a 1-hour workout
  • Do 6×50 flutter kick on 1:10
  • Do 6×50 free pull on 1:05
  • Do 6×50 free swim on 1:00
  • Do a 100 I.M in 1:45 or less
  • Do a 200 I.M. in 4:00 or less
  • Do 2×100 Free on 2:00
  • Freestyle flip-turn- 100% of the time
  • Knowledge of Backstroke flip-turn
  • Knowledge of Open Turns- Breaststroke and Butterfly
  • Dive from starting blocks
  • Uses pace clock to track intervals during workout
Silver

The purpose of Silver level is to master all skills needed to work on a swim team independently and master all strokes at various distances.

Prerequisite: Complete BDSS BRONZE level or email us for an assessment.

To graduate from this level, students must:

  • Have the warmup memorized
  • Be mentally and physically able to complete a 75-minute workout
  • Do 8×50 flutter kick on 1:00
  • Do 8×50 free pull on :55
  • Do 8×50 free swim on :50
  • Do a 100 I.M in 1:30 or less
  • Do a 200 I.M. in 3:30 or less
  • Do 4×100 Free on 1:45
  • Proper  competitive starts and turns 100% of the time
  • Dive from starting blocks
  • Uses pace clock to track intervals during workout
Gold

The purpose of Gold level is to take the skills learned in Silver and perfect technique, build endurance, and increase distances and speed.

Prerequisite: Successfully complete BDSS SILVER level or email us for an assessment.

To graduate from this level, students must:

  • Have the warmup memorized
  • Be mentally and physically able to complete a 90-minute workout
  • Do 10×50 flutter kick on :50
  • Do 10×50 free pull on :45
  • Do 10×50 free swim on :45
  • Do a 100 I.M in 1:15 or less
  • Do a 200 I.M. in 3:00 or less
  • Do 6×100 Free on 1:30
  • Proper competitive Starts, Turns, and Finishes 100% of the time
